Comment: I travelled on the 11/09-25/09 with my husband and 11 month old daughter for our honeymoon. It was a fantastic 2 weeks!!We flew with Bulgarian air... wasnt the best flight to be honest. It was very hot and the staff where not very friendly. The airport is small but effiecient. The transfer took about 1 hour as ours was the last drop off but on a lovely ir conditioned coach it wasnt a nightmare even at 1am with a baby!!
The hotel has got to be one of the cleanest i have ever stayed in!! It is run like clock work...i have never seen so many staff in a hotel before. Everyone has a job, everyone knows what they are doing and because of this you get a wondefull 4 star hotel (well deserved 4 stars i must say!!)
It has a beautifull reception area which my daughter loved with all the fish! 2 outdoor swimming pools and one gorgeous heated indoor swimming pool. A salloon bar downstairs which is open till 2am and where some of the shows are in the evening... it did get a bit smoky sometimes but smoking in public areas is to be band in Bulgaria as of next year. There is another indoor bar area on the ground floor which is huge and has another stage. All of the rooms are beautifully furnished! There is a gym on the 7th floor with snooker tables etc (charged). Computer room is on the ground floor too along with a shop (very good prices) There is also a beautifull spa and 4 resturants. Theres the main buffet resturant, asian, bulgarian and italian.
Food is traditionally served warm in Bulgaria so dont expect piping hot food but it is warm enough for anyone to eat!! Its of a good standard and plenty of it. Always lots of fuit and veg for the little ones... my 11 month old never struggled to find anything to eat!!
Every night there is a mini disco at 8pm for the kids and then a show for the adults at 9.30pm which is great... the animation team are wonderfull people and work so hard!! My daughter especially loved Millie and even know she was a baby she was still allowed in the kids club as long as i stayed with her.. she loved it in there. The park is also a godsend!
Our rooms where cleaned every day to a high standard and the mini fridge was stocked daily with water, cola, fanta and beer. The maid always did something different to decorate the toom which is a lovely touch :) The rooms are huge (as are the balconys)
even with a cot in there... the bathroom is the best bathroom we have ever had on holiday... it was lovely. Even the tv has quite a few english channels which again is a luxury!
The hotel is mainly German/French/Romanion. This didnt bother us at all. There where 3 other english familys there while we where there (i think Liz below is one of them *waves*) The staff speak english so it doesnt make any difference... all of the guests where friendly enough to us!! My daughter got plenty of attention lets put it that way :)
The actually resort is buzzing with mountains of shops, resturants and markets. Plenty of supermarkets and chemists around for the essentials.. everything resonably priced! The rip off designer bags and watches are very cheap! Its a very safe place.. no body bothers you and you dont get hassled much by the owners not like Turkey..... the beaches are beautifull and the sea is safe. You do get charged over the top for sunloungers though... we didnt bother and just used towels.
We visited Varna city which is just like any other city really.. not much to do other than shop. We went to the cathedral which is surprisingly free to get in! Its very small but beautifull. Be prepared for men asking you to change your currency (dont its fake money) and for beggers to come up to you for money... even while your eating! It cost 50 leva for a taxi return (about £25) from hotel to varna.
